Vintage William R. Warner & Co. Inc. Cobalt Medical Medicine Measuring Cup.
Up for sale, a rare antique W R Warner Co. New York & St. Louis cobalt blue glass medicine dose measure cup. This tiny embossed measure was an early advertising piece for the local pharmacist. It has embossed letters on both sides as well as on the bottom. One side reads “W R WARNER & CO., PHILA., PA.” the other side “HEAPING TEASPOON”. The bottom reads “DOSE MEASURE”. A pproximately 1 1/4″ high x 1 1/4″ diameter. It is in very good condi tion with the usual seams, bubbles and straw marks found early glass.The William R. Warner Co. was established in Philadelphia, Penn. in 1866 by a retail druggist named William R. Warner. He was credited with the making of the first sugar coated pills. He would merge his company with the Pfeiffer Chemical Co. from St. Louis in 1908.
